Ministry of Pastoral Care

This Ministry is composed of people called forth from the congregation and set apart to their tasks by the Holy Spirit and by their own devotion to the work of this Church.

This Ministry shall share with the Pastor the responsibility to organize the congregation for the care of its own members and of people in the larger community.  They shall develop means by which the pastoral needs of the people may become known, communicated to the congregation when appropriate, and responded to with sensitivity and compassion.

Recognizing that the Pastor and her/his family are also members of the congregation, this Ministry shall also be responsible for their care. As a part of this responsibility, this Ministry shall function as a “Pastoral Relations Committee” to provide a focal point of communication between the Pastor and the congregation.  It shall also have under its care the adequate compensation of the Pastor and be responsible for making recommendation for the budget for that portion of the budget that relates to this concern.
