The Charlemont Forum

The Charlemont Forum presents three free lectures on the theme “The Use and Misuse of Religion in American Political Life.”

The Forum is sponsored by the Charlemont Federated Church and funded by Mass Humanities. Scholars from Boston University, Yale, Amherst College and Syracuse University will discuss different aspects of this pertinent topic in today’s world. The Lectures/ forums begin at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Please bring your friends for these lectures.

June 22 – “Religions in America: Source of Healing or Sower of Discord?” by Professor Kathryn Lofton and Professor Stephen Prothero

July 13 – “Has it Always Been Like This? Religious Division and Political Partisanship in the American Past.” by Professor David Wills

August 10 –”The Role of Media in Understanding Religion in American Political Life.” by Professor Gustave Niebuhr and Greenfield Recorder Senior Writer, Richie Davis
